For your first flight, we headed down to New Orleans to visit the Bingmons. It would be a quick two hour flight. I will admit the fact that we would be enclosed in a tube with potential germs freaked me out. But, God heard my concerns and no sick people around us. Yay!
Another stressful thought was that you would cry with the pressure change in the cabin. I was told to make sure that you are either on the bottle or with the pacifier. Luckily, your feeding schedule allowed for us to feed you just as we took off. I am so grateful for that tidbit. You did great. Once we were well into the flight, you wanted to people watch. Your big eyes were busy. You looked everywhere that you could. Eventually, you did take a short nap.
Here you are after our landing in New Orleans. There was a man from our flight that said he couldn't tell there was a baby on the plane even though he knew you were on there.
The temp in New Orleans was HOT, HOT, HOT!! We spent the days inside and snuck out when we could in the afternoon. We got to spend the weekend on the Gulf of Mexico in a beach house that was offered to Uncle Jarvain by one of his friends. It was so very nice of them.
We were right off the beach so that was an extra bonus. It was nice to look out on the beautiful water.
With all the heat and being on a beach, Papa bought you your first bathing suit. It was a Dora the Explorer bathing suit. Auntie Gloria and I took you out onto the beach in the afternoon because it was "cooler". You weren't phased by heat. It was cute to see you put your toes in the sand and in the gulf. This was your first time doing this.
You spent some cuddle time with Auntie Gloria which was cute to see.
It was on this trip that you started to sit up on your own. You were a little wobbly but you were on your way to sitting up like a big girl.
On the flight back, we apologized to a man who sat next to us just in case you did cry. He was very understanding and said that he had a kid too. When we landed he said he was amazed that you hadn't made a peep especially since we didn't have anything to distract you with like a toy. And as we were talking, a couple of ladies who coincidentally were on the flight to New Orleans said that you were a good baby on the way in too.
All in all the trip was short but nice. Your first flight was a great success.
